Terms & Conditions
Version 1.2.0 · Effective
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Legs on Tour mobile application (the "App"), operated by Legs on Tour Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17315754, with its registered office at Flat 5, 6 Arundel House, Portland Square, Bristol BS2 8RR, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. What the App does
Legs on Tour helps you discover curated running and walking routes. For each route we may show a description, distance, elevation, best time of day, surface type, and other characteristics (such as lighting, traffic, and hazards) intended to help you decide whether a route suits you. You can filter routes, view them on a map, and download a GPX file or open a route in a third-party maps application.
The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not currently collect your name, email address, or any other information that directly identifies you.
2. Eligibility
The App is intended for a general audience. If you are under 16, you should only use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly direct the App at, or collect information from, children.
3. Your licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on a device you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. You must not:
- copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the App, its content, or its route/GPX data other than for your own personal use;
- use the App or its content for any commercial purpose (for example, republishing our route data on another platform) without our prior written consent;
- attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the App, our servers, or related systems;
- use the App in any way that breaches applicable law.
4. Outdoor activity and safety — important
Running and walking outdoors carries inherent risks, including but not limited to traffic, uneven or slippery surfaces, weather, wildlife, other trail users, and changes to a route since it was last reviewed.
Route descriptions, distances, elevation figures, GPX tracks, and characteristics such as lighting, traffic, surface, busyness, or hazard tags are provided as general guidance only, based on information available to us or our curators at the time. They are not a guarantee of current conditions, safety, or accuracy, and conditions can change at any time (for example, due to construction, weather, closures, or seasonal changes).
You are solely responsible for:
- assessing your own fitness and ability to undertake any route;
- exercising your own judgement about whether a route, or any part of it, is safe to attempt given conditions at the time;
- complying with the law and respecting private property, rights of way, and any local restrictions;
- your own safety and wellbeing while using any route shown in the App.
We are not a fitness, medical, or safety authority, and nothing in the App constitutes medical or professional advice. If you have any health concerns, consult a qualified professional before undertaking a new exercise route.
5. Third-party services
The App uses third-party services to function, including mapping and route-search services (such as Mapbox) and PostHog, which we use both for the optional analytics you can switch on and, separately, to receive reports when our software fails — see our Privacy Policy for what each involves and what governs it. Routes link out to Strava, where the saved route for each run is published, and GPX files may open in a separate third-party mapping or watch app of your choosing. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content, accuracy, or availability of any third-party service, or for what happens once you leave the App (for example, by opening a route on Strava).
6. Intellectual property
All content in the App — including route descriptions, curator commentary, hazard classifications, photographs, GPX tracks, and the App's design and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your licence under these Terms does not transfer ownership of any of this content to you.
If you send us a route suggestion, feedback, or a request to add a route in a new location, you grant us a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use it (for example, to add or improve routes in the App) without any obligation to credit or compensate you, and without any obligation to act on it.
7. No warranty
The App and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of a route shown in the App or reliance on route information, hazard classifications, or GPX data;
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the App;
- our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App is limited to £50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
9. Changes and availability
We may update, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, and may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, via an in-app notice). Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or used the App unlawfully.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
